Beauty, 1998

The "beauty" is a talented painter, Alix Miller (Turner). Her father, Alexander (Holbrook), is scheduled to go to the isolated Crompton mansion in New Hampshire to paint a family portrait of the mysterious, reclusive author Lee Crompton (Sheridan), but he falls ill and cannot. Alix decides to take his place. Much to her shock, Lee is horribly disfigured from a disease called acromegaly. Still, she has an obligation and so goes on with the painting. But as time goes on, they finds themselves increasingly drawn romantically to each other, despite the enigmatic Lee's own fears.

A portrait artist falls for the wealthy man she's been commissioned to paint - even though his tragic facial deformities have led to him being shunned by society at large. Soppy fantasy drama based on the Beauty and the Beast fairy tale, but completely lacking the magic of the children's version. Based on the novel of Susan Wilson "Beauty", 1997.

Our Guys: Outrage at Glen Ridge, 1999

In 1989, a mentally handicapped girl was raped with a broomstick and a baseball bat by members of the Glen Ridge High School football team in Glen Ridge, New Jersey. This event attracted nationwide attention, mainly due to the perception that the assailants had been given special treatment by the school and local authorities due to their status as local football stars. The events were later documented in a book and TV movie.

The events of the Glen Ridge Rape were adapted into a television movie called Our Guys: Outrage at Glen Ridge which premiered on ABC in 1999. The film, directed by Guy Ferland, stars Ally Sheedy, Eric Stoltz, and Heather Matarazzo, and is an adaptation of Bernard Lefkowitz's book. The rape scene of the film was toned down due to the film being on broadcast television. Some of the things described in Lefkowitz's book were left out of the film. The film renamed several characters and invented some new ones. The film also altered the time-line of events, moving the time of the rape being reported in the Fall (it is football season and the film opens on homecoming night), when in reality, the rape was reported in the Spring.

Dave and Griffelkin reach a very specifically-worded agreement whereby Dave's soul is forfeit in exchange for a Stanley Cup championship for the Delaware Demons (a thinly veiled version of the New Jersey Devils), which is Dave's team at the time. After the deal is done, however, Griffelkin also arranges for Dave to be traded to The Annapolis Angels, the last-place team in the league, allowing Griffelkin to fulfill his end of the bargain without actually allowing Dave to win the Stanley Cup himself. He later chooses to help Dave as revenge against Ms Beelzebub for her mean collapsible chair trick and because of his reformation, choosing to side with Good. An Angel named Gabrielle tells Griffelkin that Dave's soul can be saved if the Angels win the Stanley Cup. Dave then realizes that the only way to save his soul is to become a true team player and help his new teammates improve enough to defeat the Demons in the Stanley Cup finals. The Demons lose the Stanley Cup, The Angels win and the deal is off. Griffelkin decides to join Gabrielle, who tells him he has a few things he must do to earn his wings. Then Satan/Ms Beelzebub, enraged at her defeat and at Griffelkin for helping Dave win, madly goes back to Hell in a fit of rage.
