            Kett Turton

           ...We begin...

KT Staff: Hello Kett! We have missed your lovely face on screen over the past few years. Can you give us an insight of what you have been doing during your time away from the screen?

Kett: I moved to London to study acting at RADA. The course was 3 years long. And then I stayed another 3.  This could have gone on forever really.  I loved it there very much.

KT Staff: That awesome! So you spent some years studying at RADA, how different do you feel your understand of acting is now, compared to when you first enrolled at RADA? What do you think you've learned from the entire experience (about both yourself and acting)?

Kett: It deepened my appreciation of how much time can be put into exploring material.  You can work on something for days/weeks/months, and with a group of amazing, creative people, and can still find more work to do. I was lucky to find that.  On set it has to be about getting things done as quickly and easily as possible.

KT Staff: What can you tell us about your experiences when theater acting in London? Is it something you would ever consider going back into in the future?

Kett: I'd go back in a heartbeat.  It just isn't where the road is going right now. I seem to get more work in North America and it's very important for me to be acting as much as possible these days.  But it wouldn't take much to send me back.

KT Staff: Well we can say without a doubt, we certainly enjoyed having you here in the UK!

KT Staff: Let us ask you a question, about a glorious film that is still in a lot of people's hearts today; Gypsy 83.KT Staff: Gypsy 83 is still very big today in the goth and gay culture. Do you ever look back and feel like you could have taken a different approach to playing Clive?

Kett: Yes absolutly. I think there are many different ways he could have been played and I played him rather simply to be honest.  I really only scimmed the surface.

KT Staff: How do you feel when you look back on past performances such as Kingdom Hospital, Gypsy 83, Dead Last etc Do you feel like you've come a long way since that period of your life?

Kett: I'm very critical of my work.  It isn't always helpful to tear it all to pieces but that's kind of my natural state.

KT Staff: Speaking of those (exceptional) performances...

KT Staff: You tend to bring with you a dark and sinister style through your acting and play a lot of baddies especially in your TV performances, is this something you enjoy playing the most? Or do you enjoy the challenge of playing different style of characters?

Kett: Yeah, what's that about?  It's partly how people see me.  Im sort of pale, thin and tragic looking.  People sometimes tell me to smile even when I'm perfectly happy.  I dont feel dark or sinister. When i was younger i was drawn to characters who were outsiders, who were strange.  Probably because i felt i was strange.  But I think everyone is peculiar, and to approach a character as if they're 'weird' or something doesn't work very well.

KT Staff: Speaking of characters...

KT Staff: What characters over the years have been your favorite to play and why?

Kett: The process is new each time.  It's visceral and then it's done and it fades away, so I don't keep favorites really.  If I look back on a show it's usually because of things that were happening at the time and people I miss working with.  It's always about moving on to the next though.

KT Staff: If you could chose to play any character, what would it be and why?(e.g Batman)

Kett: I would love more chances to work on Classical texts. Shakespeare or Marlowe or Ford or anyone.

Batman Via KT Staff: Question from Batman himself ;)...

KT Staff: If you were offered the roll of 'Robin' in The 1960's batman series, would you take it? Would you wear the tights?

Kett: Yes, absolutley those dudes lived like lords. I have no issue with tights.

KT Staff: Would you ever do one of those cheesy Listerine advertisements? Mmmm minty freshness.

Kett: I hope not.KT Staff: Haha, well said.

KT Staff: What can you tell us about playing your bad ass character in 'Fringe'?

Kett: Yeah, it was fun. The director kept coming up with funny extra lines for me to say.  He really wanted some humor in the scene.

KT Staff: So, out of curiosity...

KT Staff: If you had  chosen a different career path, what do you think you could be doing now instead?

Kett: I would have been a writer.

KT Staff: You clearly have a very artistic and active mind! What are your personal hobbies that keep you motivated and active outside of acting? What does Kett enjoy doing in life? :)

Kett: More and more all the time.  I've been very lazy for many years but starting to wake up a bit.KT Staff: That's good. The more interests the better we say!

KT Staff: Talking about hobbies... Our KT Staff loves their food :D ....

KT Staff: Bagels are a very popular food item in America, especially for breakfast. So that begs the question, what items would go in YOUR bagel?!...

Kett: I just put butter on them.

KT Staff:  You follow one of our staff members for that! ;)

KT Staff: So you appear in the video ''Almost Happy'' by Alice Ai , it's certainly an amazing video and Alice Ai is an exceptional artist. What's the story behind your part in the video, it looked very fun to film?

Kett: She (Alice Ai) was making the video and asked if I'd be one of the cowboys, thats all really.  We've been great friends for years and years so it was very fun to film!  The dancers were great to work with. Very skilled. Im a terrible dancer so i'm fascinated by the process of artists like that. How expressive their bodies are even when they're just standing and talking.  Dancing will teach you a lot about acting.

KT Staff: That amazing. We very much agree, the dancers were brillant. That video just screams fun! You all did an amazing job!

KT Staff: Onto a completely different subject altogether, whatch out this is where things get serious!

KT Staff: If you could chose to be a Muppet, which one would you be and Why?

Kett: I think id be one of the food ones.  There was a talking sandwich that would show up evey now and then. Having said that i also greatly identify with Wayne and Wanda. No one remembers them but they were fucking awesome.

KT Staff: ^_^ Nice choice indeed!

KT Staff: So Kett, the future is a thrilling and bright place. What do you hope to gain from it? Do you have any set goals in mind?

Kett: I'm just so hungry to work these days. I want to do films, plays, TV, art pieces, big parts, little parts, all over the world.  I've been quiet for a while now but that's coming to an end.

KT Staff: Well it's certainly inspirational to witness a person with such drive and the exceptionally creative abilities to go with it! We thoroughly look forward to seeing you on our screens and in our theatre's in the not too distant future! It has been a pleasure speaking with you Kett, thank you for taking the time out for a written interview. Till next time, take care and  keep on voicing those amazing abilities of yours!
